The Ritz-Carlton Cup 2002

A buzz of excitement in the air on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. in Wolfsburg. More than 1,800 rowers have come to the six-acre grounds to participate in the Ritz-Carlton Cup 2002. The 2nd dragon boot race was held on 25th August and was organised by the five-star hotel chain Ritz Carlton together with the city of Wolfsburg. 40 chefs were there to cater for the athletes and 25,740 guests.

Even the German football player "Effe", who was rowing for Wolfsburg instead of kicking, couldn't take his team-mates to victory. At the end Autohaus Wolfsburg was the worthy winner of the coveted Ritz Carlton Cup; the crew of 20 was unbeatable in coordination and speed.
