Pacific Hovercraft
When the British engineer Cockerell invented the first hovercraft over 40 years ago, he probably didn't realise that these lightweight, extremely fast craft would be useful for more than just commercial travel from A to B. Over the past 20 years a large community of recreational hovercrafters has sprung up, fans who love the exhilaration of flying over the water at 100 km an hour without getting their feet wet. Although die-hard hovercraft fans tend to build their own craft from scratch, in New Zealand two engineers have set up a company that specializes in building and selling hovercraft. The company's craft are rugged, reliable and very comfortable.
