Hotel
Zauberlehrling
Stuttgart (Germany)

You wander along the corridor, stop at the first door, read "Titanic", and wonder what the room could look like. Further along are "Time Trap", "Cloud 7" and many more enticing names. Nine rooms, nine question marks. Ideally, one would want to spend nine nights here, each night in a different room. Inquisitiveness is a driving force, it motivates. Why not invite eight friends and swap rooms every night? The idea is good, but it does, unfortunately, have its perils: what if you don't want to give up your room? What if you want to spend another night in that wonderful round bed dreaming those wonderful dreams? What if you want to enjoy Champagne in the Jacuzzi again? Therešs no way round it - it'll just have to be the whole hotel for nine days.

Karen and Axel Heldmann are no apprentices. They are fully versed in the language of the senses. Feel, see, smell, taste and hear. Each room - even the corridor - leaves an indelible mark on the imagination and fuels conversation around the breakfast table. Holiday postcards concentrate exclusively on the hotel. Well, not just the hotel - there has to be room for the restaurant as well. Alex Heldmann cooks, or should that be conjures, like a master.

enlarge Comfortable and hospitable. Stuttgart is renowned for its culinary specialities. Axel Heldmann's team are more at home with wooden spoons than magic wands, and the results are famed far beyond the city's borders. There's no reason for the rest of the nation to live without Heldmann's skills: his cookery courses are exceptionally popular.
