The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin
Right at the heart of Berlin, where politics, business and tourism keep Germany's capital on its toes, is a spot where in only 10 months from now countless visitors from all around the world will gather to breathe in the legendary Berlin air. The choice of location simply couldn't be better for a luxury hotel: close to the zoo, the philharmonic, the parliament and the Brandenburg Gate. The building, which is currently being erected, brings to mind New York skyscrapers of the 1920s, and it takes the Potsdamer Platz a bit closer to the real world. The new hotel will be a place where people from all nations can enjoy outstanding hospitality. They will return home taking with them a bit of the palpable sense of the area's political dynamism, touristic attractions and business growth. French cuisine, English tea and American coffee, united under the banner of German hospitality, may very well turn Europe's largest building site into Europe's cultural hotspot.

The dimensions of the public areas are truly astounding. Everything here is much bigger and more luxurious than in other hotels.
Take, for instance, the free-standing ten-meter staircase in the lobby: it could have been built smaller, but space is luxury,
which is something that you can never have too much of in the heart of the capital. (Peter Silling, interior designer of The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin)

Intricate marble inlays, coloured glass mosaics on the walls and in the pool make for stylish design highlights in the Spa. The nearby Tiergarten park is ideal for jogging in the fresh air. One of the hotel's very special services is a "Jogger Station" at the entrance: every morning the sportingly inclined will find fresh towels, mineral water, fruit and maps of the park for their convenience.
