Heinrich Kock
The 50-year-old control engineer Heinrich Kock from Essen has been an artist for more than half of his life.
His distinctive creativity finds expression in caricatures of animals, executed in stone and metal. One of the main challenges
of this art form is to find a piece of natural stone, e.g. quartz or granite, with a shape and colour structure that is suitable
for the new creation Heinrich Kock has in mind. The pneumatic drilling technique he uses to anchor metal parts in
the stone is equally demanding. Kock's first piece, a crab crafted of terminal moraine quartz, made in 1985,
was snapped up by an Essen jeweller as a decorative object.

Kock has made a name for himself as an artist throughout Germany, Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Reason enough for him to be as happy as this stone joker, Gonzo, with its comical bulbous nose, skirt made of metal strips,
steel hair and large stainless steel feet.
