Speed Art: Dynamic sculptures

Gyula Gulyas sculptures are the expression of the forces and dynamics of velocity, captured in different shape, at different cross sections of time and movement.
Exclusive-Life and Automotive Fine Art present the artwork of a young and wild Hungrian artist.

For Gulyas cars and motor-cycles are structures constructed by the systemic rules of mechanics and operated by individuals on the basis of practical or "dynamic" needs. These vehicles and their parts are the product of some of the greatest inventors of mankind, a respectable number of whom were of Hungarian origin (Csonka János, Bánki Donát, Bela Barenyi). Through art he transforms these perfect structures into his personal ideas of the absolute. He prefers to work in bronze but sometimes likes to experiment with his other favorite material, exotic wood.

Gulyas' sculptures are the expression of the forces and dynamics of velocity, captured in different shape, at different cross sections of time and movement. With the general rules of mechanics and structure "in his blood", even in his wildest dreams of new art the twin pairs of the sculptures (actual, running vehicles to be built) are ever present in concept. Although he aims to present machines as entities in their eternal or univer-sal manifestation, he is not interested in turning them into arbitrary images or shapes deprived of their original identity.
