This scorpion won't be squeezing his enemies to death in his pincers or stinging them with his impressive sting anymore.
And don't expect this scorpion (7 cm) to perform the famed scorpion dance either: it is made of 16 carat gold and platinum alloy
(gold weight: 46.4 grams).

Peter A. Bliestle
He captures the microcosm: Peter Biestle's aim in life is to hone the eye of the spectator for the fascinating
biodiversity of the microcosms around us. He is mesmerised by the cunning survival tricks of insects and spiders,
and entranced by their filigree bodies. The Singen-based artist captures the infinite variety of these species by
casting them in 925 Sterling silver, gold or a 14 carat gold-platinum alloy. The insects are embedded
using a special technique and then cast in precious metals. The results are unique specimens from this wonderful
world that will probably outlive us humans.

The Romans believed that the stag beetle, Europe's largest beetle, possessed strong healing powers.
It was worn as an amulet to guard against children's illnesses. This particular specimen is made of 925 Sterling silver,
is 8.5 cm long and has a wingspan of 13 cm. No longer will these intimidating jaws be used to chase off rivals.

The praying mantis, a species of grasshopper, takes its name from its posture.
It captures its prey with its front legs, which are commonly held up against its body, as if the mantis were praying.
The Chinese believe it has healing properties and the ability to ease pain. It is also a symbol of fearlessness and courage.
The weight of this 8 cm long specimen, which is made of solid gold, is a reassuring 31 grams.
