Robert Pierini melted subtle layers of sulphate, oxide, nitrate and gold chlorides in glass to achieve these vibrant colours. Delicate shapes swirl round a filigree, yellow container at the heart of this transparent glass vase.

His aim is not to please. His aim is to make his dreams come true. An artist continuously in search of new melting methods which will enable him to capture light in glass and focus it on one single point.
His glass objects sparkle and glow. Robert Pierini, born in 1950, pupil of Eloi Monod and France's most outstanding contemporary glass artist, transforms his visions into reality in each of his glass objects.

This flacon is almost too good for perfume: a "heavyweight", which lies smoothly in the hand, and which has a mesmerising appeal that changes with the light. The blue-green body inside the transparent glass has an almost mystical aura.

This is his red, a shade unique to the artist: a fine net of red lines, suffused by light, tumbles from the mouth of the vase almost down to its base. It lies in the eye - and imagination - of the beholder to interpret the interplay of the gold particles and iridescent colours.
