Daniela M. Bauer knows exactly what men want: a lady with a smart hat. And on hand to make sure that the hat suits the lady, and vice versa, is the milliner.
When you hear that Daniela M. Bauer trained as data handling specialist and then went on to study Business Education,
you expect to meet a highly rational person. But deep down inside, since she was a child, she has always had wide,
wild creative streak, expressed in her love of sewing, textiles and painting. When she turned 30 in 1996, Daniela M. Bauer
started experimenting with felt and testing its almost unlimited versatility. Once her friends and acquaintances
got wind of her creative talents and started clamouring for her to design hats, she decided to give up her safe
job and use her creative potential. After three months at the PENTIMENT summer academy of the Hamburg College of Design,
she spent several months in London at the College of Fashion learning classic millinery techniques.
"For me the most exciting and challenging part of what I do is modelling and shaping the hats, as well as the actual
craft of making them," she explains. For her stylish, eye-catching model and cocktail hats she
uses only the very finest materials, such as silk, linen and fine feathers. All her creations are hand-sewn in strict accordance
with the cardinal rule "Everything is possible, but invisible stitches, please!" Her stupendous hats radiate creativity,
exclusiveness and extravagance. Whatever the occasion - a cocktail party in Paris, the races at Ascot or a spot of shopping
on Hamburg's Jungfernstieg - Daniela M. Bauer's unique hats are always perfect.
